{"id":488,"date":"2013-03-22T08:26:16","date_gmt":"2013-03-22T12:26:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.newsite.osteopathicvision.com\/blog\/grounding.html"},"modified":"2013-11-23T23:54:00","modified_gmt":"2013-11-24T04:54:00","slug":"grounding","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/osteopathicvision.com\/staging\/2013\/03\/22\/grounding\/","title":{"rendered":"Grounding"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.newsite.osteopathicvision.com\/_Media\/shapeimage_1-5_med.png\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Grounding (also called earthing) is literally reconnecting your body with the ground (earth). \u00a0It is the basis of healing. \u00a0Here is how it works: 1) The earth is a universal electron donor. \u00a0What that means is that the earth provides negative charges (electrons) to any positively charged particle that needs them.<\/p>\n<p>2) Oxidative stress is neutralized by grounding. \u00a0Pollution, poor nutrition, lack of adequate sleep and many other things can cause the body to oxidize molecules (develop a positive charge). \u00a0This can lead to tissue and DNA damage. \u00a0Grounding helps to neutralize this effect by providing electrons.<\/p>\n<p>3) Some hormone imbalances can be corrected with grounding. \u00a0If your hormone imbalance is a result of stress, returning your body to a more relaxed, grounded state, can correct the hormone imbalance.<\/p>\n<p>4) Disturbed sleep may be helped by grounding. \u00a0If you are having sleep problems, grounding can help to restore better sleep by lowering the levels of the hormone cortisol (which is responsible for your sleep\/wake cycles).<\/p>\n<p>5) The effects of aging can be helped by grounding. \u00a0Oxidative stress contributes to aging. \u00a0Grounding helps to correct oxidative stress and can help relieve the effects of aging, such as DNA damage, varicose veins, and spider veins.<\/p>\n<p>6) If you work indoors all day, work or live above the ground floor, drive a car, don&#8217;t get outside much, or live in a stressful environment my strong suggestion is that you learn as much as you can about grounding\/earthing and take measures to ground yourself.<\/p>\n<p>Grounding can be as simple as walking barefoot in the grass. \u00a0It can be sleeping on the bare ground as well. \u00a0However, there are simpler ways to ground yourself in today&#8217;s modern world. \u00a0There are conductive fabrics that can be connected to the earth that will act as if your body is on the ground, even if you are in the comfort of your bed, at your computer or are in your favorite chair. \u00a0You can learn more about how grounding\/earthing works by clicking\u00a0<a title=\"http:\/\/www.earthinginstitute.net\/index.php\/overview\" href=\"http:\/\/www.earthinginstitute.net\/index.php\/overview\">here<\/a>. \u00a0You can order the book &#8220;<a title=\"http:\/\/www.earthinginstitute.net\/index.php\/book\" href=\"http:\/\/www.earthinginstitute.net\/index.php\/book\">Earthing<\/a>&#8221;
